Sunny Bunnies is a Belarusian children's CGI-animated television series created by Digital Light Studio. It premiered on Disney Channel in Russia on December 10, 2015.

In April 2016, a Youtube Channel operated by WildBrain began uploading episodes and other videos in English.

The series focuses on 5 colorful bunnies (Turbo, Big Boo, Iris, Shiny and Hopper) as they spawn in a place (typically Sunny Park) and they have an adventure. Whenever something goes wrong, they need to solve the problem in order to have fun.

Show DescriptionEdit

Kids are capable of coming up with the most unreal and fantastic creatures in their minds. Shadows are seen as bleak and gloomy, while sunbeams are associated with light and happiness, and can create funny images. What if these fantasies came alive? What if they could jump out of the sunlight?

The Sunny Bunnies are five beaming balls of light that can appear anywhere there is a light source. Whether it is sunlight or moonlight, they bring fun and happiness everywhere they go. However, each time they appear their actions turn into a mischievous game. Sometimes too mischievous.

In each episode, Sunny Bunnies appear at a different location: a circus, a stadium, a carousel, a park, a stage… They immediately start to investigate their surroundings and that’s when the fun and mischief begin! At the very end of every episode, the laughter continues with a collection of bloopers.

Episodes are usually three-to-four minutes long.

Turbo is the leader of the bunnies. He is self-confident, loving, and kind, but somewhat bossy to his friends.

He is orange and sports a mohawk, and his ears are always up.

Big Boo

Big Boo is an overweight bunny. He loves ice cream and he will do anything for it. Despite being clumsy, he and Hopper often get into fights (mostly over ice cream), but he usually gets over it at the end.

He is a large light purple bunny, and his ears are small.

Big Boo

Iris is a dark purple bunny. She has a sister named Shiny, and they tend to do everything together. She doesn't cry a lot, but she gets mad when her bow gets lost or taken.

She is a violet bunny with a large pink bow on top of her head.

Iris Pose 01

Shiny is a light blue bunny. She has a twin sister named Iris. Unlike her sister, she doesn't wear bows. She also has a fear of heights. She cries whenever things belonging to her get taken away, or when something special to her gets ruined.

Her ears are mostly drooping in episodes. She has long, partially-urple in it, and a little daisy on the right of it.

Shiny Pose 02

Hopper is the youngest of the group. He is the mischievous one, and is always the one who starts the mischief. He tends to be a bit of a prankster, doing things like taking drawings and ruining them with a paintbrush, causing his friends to get mad at him. He apologizes for his actions later.

He is a light green bunny, also his ears are stretched long.

Hoper Pose 00
Grey Wolf

The Grey Wolf is the main antagonist of the series. Debuting in Season 2, the wolf comes from the moon and comes up with lots of plans to trap and eat the bunnies, but always gets thwarted by them - sometimes even on accident!

The series has been licensed in the US by Evolution,[1] and merchandise was announced for a Fall 2018 release at the New York Toy Fair 2018, including light-up and bouncing plush toys, talking plush toys, large huggable plush toys, and a "bunny blast cannon" playset alongside figurines.[2]

  • The series is based on the set of 5D films of the same name.
    • The bunnies are slightly redesigned from their original designs in the attractions.
  • The series started production in 2014, as seen is this post.
    • The picture also showcases earlier designs of the bunnies. Shiny and Iris both lacked hairstyles but sported small bows on their ears.
  • The series was originally titled "Sunny & Funny." This title sneaks its way into the final series, such as being used on the clapboard for bloopers.
  • There are no other living characters in the series besides the six listed above and some fireflies, but in some episodes cheering and clapping can be heard, and there are often cardboard cutouts of humans and other creatures, and in Who is Faster?, we can hear a voice over some speakers.
